Geographic Position
Malaysia is located immediately with the equator. The Malaysian peninsula borders in the Pacific Ocean, concrete in the north-east on the Gulf of Thailand, in the east to the South-Chinese Sea, in the south to the street of Johor and in the southwest to the street of Malacca. In the west the peninsula borders on the Andaman Sea in the Indian Ocean.
The eastern, more interesting landscape part of Malaysia, Borneo, is located in the Pacific and borders in the east to the Sulu Sea and in the north and northwest on the South-Chinese Sea, which is separating Borneo from the Malaysian Peninsula.
Malaysia is surrounded by the countries Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesian Sumatra, Indonesian Kalimantan and Philippines as well as the Singapore islands and the sultanate Brunei which did not join both to the kingdom.
Weather
There dominate equatorial, tropical climate. Days and nights are roughly equally long all year round and the dusk is short. At the end of most days one can observe color-splendid sundowns.
To usual way the temperatures is the whole year about 30 degrees, from March to July it is the warmest in tendency. During cloudless days the temperature can rise about 40 degrees. Because of the expansion of the land, there are also geographical differences. Here we advise to ask the Internet e.g. Wikipedia.
Spring and summer with the southwest monsoon apply as dry season. In autumn and winter with the north-east monsoon is rainy season. The rain (100 … 700 mms) is warm and is felt predominantly as pleasant.
In the dry season it is mostly hardly got cloudy with sunrise. In the late morning it becomes hazy. This damps, like a natural air-conditioning, the other temperature rise. In the afternoon the air humidity can reach the saturation degree – it is raining. The rain sometimes evaporates, nevertheless few meters above ground which he does not reach any more. The relative air humidity amounts in the cities often to 95 … 97% in the rain forest she is higher.
East Malaysia is well protected against many physical disasters. In the east the Philippines, in the west form the Malaysian peninsula and Sumatra, in the south Java a natural barrier against Tsunamis. Typhoons further run to the north of Borneo, on the Asian continent coast.
Nature
The same like in Germany there is also in Malaysia an economic slope of west after the east. The Malay Peninsula in the west is settled much stronger (80% of the population), and has the highest economic power of the land. As in Europe the original nature got lost, besides, to a great extent. But also the rudimentary rests in the parks of the Malayan Peninsula in the west are still to be seen imposing. Even in the centre Kuala Lumpur’s hornbill birds are hatch.
The land mostly level on the coasts with developed infrastructure is also used agriculturally. In the inland one meets fast on forested, to Asia typically impressive mountains.
In the East-Malaysia separated by the South-Chinese Sea, on Borneo, there is still vast, original rain forest, waterfalls, and wild nature. In Sabah lies the highest mountain of South-East Asia, the Mount Kinabalu with 4,095 meters, by his equatorial position his summits are mostly free of snow.
Because of the logical environment and protection of endangered species plants and animals who have already become extinct in other lands of the region could keep. In the untouched rain forest one may meets the last primeval primitive folk and in the national parks one learns a lot of background knowledge.
National Parks & Tours
National parks of Malaysia also allow to less conditioned tourists relatively simply a physical-acceptable meeting with many impressive miracles of the nature. 1-2 metres about the ground wide, level wooden catwalks with railing became this, roofs partly and bamboo suspension bridges in the sheet roof 20 … 30 metres high between the primeval forest giants installed about whom one reaches certainly to worth seeing places.
Thus it is enabled to tourist also to be able to observe rare or more dangerous animals certainly in her natural surroundings. Guides provide for the fact that tourists also perceive the plants and animals who remained on grounds of her camouflage otherwise in secrecy. In addition, the guides prevent that tourists bring themselves by wrong behaviour needlessly in difficulties.
River cruises are the most impressive experience tours – then rivers are the only ways which lead safely deeper in the rain forest! Crocodiles are no rarity. With some luck one is able to do recently slipped baby crocodiles also as more than 4 metres long gigantic saurians admire. In the riversides it is swarming with birds, Waranen and monkeys of all kind, in particular Makaken and proboscis monkeys. In the evening after spectacular sundowns millions of fire aviation (similarly of our glowworms) light up the surroundings.
Island Beaches, Reef Diving, To Snorkels
The Diving and island-paradises of Malaysia is a little unknown. Here Dugongs (sea cows) can be observed in the mangroves or gigantic leather tortoises with the night egg-laying on the sandy beach just as the hatching of the Jung's animals very closely.
The Malaysian archipelago, above all, east Malaysia has to offer tropical coral reefs and heavenly beaches. There is to see a huge number of exotic inhabitants in color-splendid, living coral reefs. With some luck in deeper bodies of water, in the reef edge, even Waal sharks, hammer sharks or sting rays in her natural environment. The clean, crystal clear water permits unchecked view over many meters of depth.
Even sports fishing of swordfishes, tunas or other gigantic catches from the especially equipped sports hinge and hunting boat is offered.
Extreme Tourism
For extreme tourism the possibility passes, in addition, itself under skilled guidance directly to battle one's way through the Jungle. (lonely one man trips efforts very often end with missing announcements) the dangers are not to be underestimated which goes out from toxic plants, more than 50 meter high, infirm primeval forest giants, weather-beaten rocks, incredibly well disguised poisonous snakes or giant pythons or little unnoticed leech or insects. Elephants, nebulous panthers or other spectacular animals play a rather subordinated act a part in the hotlist of dangers. The chance to meet wild orangutans in the Sabah rain forest is very realistic.
Whitewater-Rafting, Paragliding and similarly hazardous activities should be done only under instructions and not in the highest level step which is also the most dangerous one.
