Sabah is the Malaysian State in the north-east of Borneo between Kalimantan, Sarawak, the island Labuan and the Philippines.
The name is derived from the Arabian as-sabah - „the morning".
Sabah is called by the locals also "land under the wind“, because of the position below the typhoon belt. Every now and then you can watch distant typhoons.
